The Main Story...

... August by Quadrant was still pretty stable.  Now's the time for the Fed to reduce rates!

August by Quadrant saw increases in uniti transactions across the board with the exception of West of Rt 13, the farthest area from the coast.  Although we did see increases in the average home prices in all quadrants but the area between Rts 113 and 13, the gains were minimal excluding the closest to the coast.
September is here and the anticipation of a reduced Fed rate has everyone in a wait and see mode.  September opens the month down a little bit from August, but still up almost a quarter percentage point over last year.
To sum it up... 

Quadrant by Quadrant we are still seeing fairly strong activity across Sussex County, especially closer to the coast.  Both transactions and the average home price are up over a year ago for the month of August and year to date.

Interest rates have continued to come down week by week, but are still higher than a year ago.  Increased unemployment rates are a sign of a slowing economy and an indicator that soon may be the time for the Fed to make the move they've been talking about for some time now.
