More homes to choose from, prices are still on the rise, interest rates are declining… Now is a great time to buy.   Home prices In March increased in all quadrants with the exception of the area between Rts 113 and 13.  Home closings were relatively flat versus a year ago with the exception of the same quadrant, Rts 113 and 13 down -11%. A 30 year Average fixed rate mortgage so far in April is down from March and last year. Each week we see small, incremental declines in the rate. Some economist are suggesting that the FED Rate should drop by 1.5 Percentage points By the end of the year. To sum it up...  Although home sales are relatively flat versus a year ago, nearly 40% of home sales in March were at OR ABOVE the initial listing price.   With the expectation of the FED rate dropping and mortgage rates coming down, now is a great time to purchase with the expectation of refinancing to an even lower rate in the not too distant future.
