Monday's Main Event Get a jump on your week with the latest in local Real Estate Market trends, Mortgage Rates, and Local Happenings The Main Story... ... is the Real Estate market on the down turn??? As we end the month of February there are 886 Resale homes active on the market.  Roughly 30% of those came on the market this month with the rest aging more than 30 days.  Approximately 35% of the homes that came on the market in February went under contract in the same month.   Mortgage Rates dipped a little more again last week bringing rates just under 6.9% for the month.  We all have them and mine was last week!  Wishing everyone who celebrates a very happy birthday and a great year ahead. To sum it up... New resale listings in February came in just under 400 homes, which was an increase of about 5% from the previous year and an 8% increase over the 5 year average for the same month. Mortgage rates are relatively unchanged from the start of the month, but this isn't stopping Buyers from committing when the right home comes on the market.  As some are finding out, we are still seeing multiple offer situations with 32% of homes selling at or above the original list price.  Don't be fooled if you hear someone say the Real Estate market is crashing, it's certainly not in our area.
