Monday's Main Event Get a jump on your week with the latest in local Real Estate Market trends, Mortgage Rates, and Local Happenings The Main Story... ... Resale demand is stronger while New Construction softens. New Construction closings in January represented about 23% of the total closings.  There was approximately a 7% decline in New Construction closings for the month while Resale closings were up about 24% versus a year ago. 30 year Mortgage Rates remained relatively unchanged from the prior week.   To sum it up... January saw a small dip in New Construction closings compared to the same time last year, but calling this a trend might be a little pre-mature.  2024 saw the highest number of new construction homes closed on in Sussex county of the preceding 4 years.   Mortgage rates seem to be at a stand-still, for now.  With so much uncertainty when a new Administration takes shape, markets tend to be a little more conservative until the new direction is firmed up.  While it's unlikely that we see rates come down in the near term, Buyers are still making life decisions  Looking for a Deal ?
