The Main Story...

New Construction is still available close to the beach, but Builders are struggling a bit to see year over year growth.

Delving into the Year to Date numbers for New Construction by Quadrant, we can see the largest growth area for New Construction is between Rts 1 and 113, with 36% of the homes sold being new builds and this segment makes up 79% of all New Construction purchases in Sussex County so far this year. 

Nationally, we saw a slight uptick in 30 year mortgage rates last week, but still significantly lower than a year ago.

To sum it up... 

 

Builders continue to make up about 25% of the home purchases in Sussex County, with only slight growth over a year ago.  They continue to push on prices and incentives to get Buyer conversion. With interest rates lower, Buyers are taking advantage of this market and momentum.
