Monday's Main Event Get a jump on your week with the latest in local Real Estate Market trends, Mortgage Rates, and Local Happenings The Main Story... October is upon us, but it's no time to be scared...  Mortgage Rates are at 6% and falling and Seawitch is only a few weeks away. As we close out September, we see the average price of a home is up from last month and last year while the number of transactions are relatively flat year over year. New Listings increased 8% from a year ago with nearly 40% of those homes going under contract before the end of the month. Last weeks national average mortgage rate was relatively unchanged from the prior week, hovering just over 6%.  Some local lenders are already quoting rates in the mid to high 5%'s.
