The Main Story...

May Closings and Inventory are both up over a year ago, although active inventory is hanging on a little longer than in the recent past.

May had a pretty good month, all things considered.  Closings were up 6 % over a year ago and the average closed price was up nearly 10% from the same time last year.

We saw an increase in new listings in May of 15% over a year ago.  Homes that sold in May averaged 16 days on the market, while the average active listing has been on for just under 30 days.

Interest Rates are relatively unchanged in May vs. April and up a little more than half a percentage point from a year ago.
