Monday's Main Event Get a jump on your week with the latest in local Real Estate Market trends, Mortgage Rates, and Local Happenings The Main Story... ... There's an assumption that because there are fewer Resale homes available, that Buyers are shifting into New Construction.  By the numbers, that's not quite the case.  March Year to Date   New Construction represents about 25% of the total homes sold year to date with the area between Rts 1 & 113 holding the highest percentage.  However, all quadrants are below last year in the number of New Construction homes closed on, with the exception of West of Rt13. Interest Rates are still hovering in the high 6% range.  With the uncertain promise of lower rates later in the year, is a half of a percentage point reduction going to get more Sellers and Buyers motivated?
