Get a jump on your week with the latest in local Real Estate Market trends, Mortgage Rates, and Local Happenings
The Main Story...
... Builders and Resale sellers are continuing to see high demand in the wake of higher interest rates.
September 2023 - Final
September Closings were down close to 20% from last year as inventories are lighter than a year ago. New construction continues to make up a little more than 30% of the closed transactions year to date.
The average mortgage rate continues to increase. We saw a big leap from September to October last year. That change isn't nearly as dramatic this year, so hopefully this is a good sign.
"Marry the House, Date the Rate"
To sum it up...
Sales continue to trend down from last year, although better than earlier in the year. Resale inventory continues to lag behind last year, as well, keeping average sale prices higher than a year ago and the 5 year average.
